We are sadden to hear about the tragic death of Chandler Williams, the Arena football player who died while playing a game. He leaves behind his wife Vanitia Harrigan and their daughter Tori Williams.
27-year-old Chandler Williams of Miami, FL died on Saturday, January 5th, 2013 at the age of 27 while playing a flag football tournament in South Florida when he collapse on the field, Williams was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. It is suspected the cause of death was due to a heart condition.
Williams graduated from Miami Senior High School in Miami in 2003, he later attended Florida International University and selected 233rd in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings, later signed with the Miami Dolphins and with the Atlanta Falcons on April 29, 2008.
In December, 2009 he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, he was waived in August, 2011.
He singed with the CFL’s the Toronto Argonauts on June 6, 2012, and released 4 months later.
Chandler Williams was engaged to his college sweetheart Vanitia Harriagan who he met while at Florida International University where Vanitia graduated with a BS in journalism and communications in 2009, she is currently a Sales Assistant and web producer with WSVN channel 7 in Miami, FL, she has been working there since last year; before that from 2007 until 2008 she was a Public Relations & Special Events Intern at Virginia Key Beach Park Trust.
Vanitia Harrigan lives in North Lauderdale, FL with her and Chandler’s beautiful daughter Tori Summer-Rose Williams.
