The 49ers fans could do with no such an end in Super Bowl XLVII following their team’s kicker, David Akers, whose Erika Akers’s husband too, he missed 10 of his 19 tries from at least 40 yards this season.
Ravens fans most likely don’t want to pay attention to Akers’ struggles. The 49ers hope that Akers can make usual field goals….
The 49ers compete with Akers before the playoffs got going. That is how anxious they had turn out to be after Akers made only 11 of his final 18 tries of the regular season. Akers, was one of the only qualifying kickers making less than 70 percent of their field goal tries during the regular season. Including the playoffs, Akers has made only 9 of 19 tries from 40-plus yards. He bounced one off the upright against Atlanta, making that game the 49ers’ first under Jim Harbaugh without in any case one made field goal.

Now moving to Erika, she and her husband founded an altruistic institution in 2001, called “Kicks for Kids.” The charitable trust seeks to serve sick kids and their families, who are getting treatment at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
Ten years after establishing the organization, David and his wife Erika experienced the hurt that parents experience in dealing with an ill kid.
David knows about this situation since his daughter Halley had to have a tumor removed around that moment. Erika Akers acknowledged that she knew something was not O.K. throughout the game.
I could tell he was there doing his job. But he wasn’t there.
