Meet Dorothy Cannon, she is longtime wife of the former Heisman Trophy winner Billy Cannon, who suffered a stroke on February 20th, Cannon is 75.
Billy Cannon is one of the most celebrated football players in American Football, he is an All-American, 2008 inductee into the College Football Hall of Fame from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and a 1959 Heisman Trophy winner.
Billy was first selected to the College football Hall of fame in 1983 but his involvement in a counterfeiting scheme postponed his Hall of fame election.
Cannon retired in 1959, after that he earned a D.D.S. at the University of Tennessee and additional degrees in orthodontia from Loyola University Chicago, for some time he was a well respected and successful dentist, but that changed all of the sudden when he was arrested for participating in that $6 million counterfeiting scheme.
He served two and a half years of the his five year sentence at the federal prison in Texarkana, Texas, after his release he regained his dental license but his days of glory as a dentist were over.
Billy Cannon got married to his high school sweetheart Dorothy while he was a freshman in college and lived in married student housing.
