Megan Boken was a kind, beautiful young woman, at St. Louis University she was remembered as a star volleyball player, a popular girl who everybody liked and loved. Today her family and friends at school mourned over her tragic death just hours before she was due to play at an annual alumni game.
According to witnesses 23-year-old Megan Boken was seen getting into an argument with a man right in front f the apartment building where she used to live when she attended St. Louis University, what remains unclear is whether the man got inside her car or just opened the door when he shot her twice in the neck and chest. He flew the scene before police arrived.. Megan was rushed to Barnes-Jewish Hospital where she was pronounced dead
Some Media suggested Megan knew her attacker, but it is more likely that she had no relation with her killer, robbery is suspected. The suspect was described as black males probably in his 20’s, slim build, 5’8” to 5’10”, short hair, he was wearing khaki pants and a charcoal grey shirt.
Megan Boken was born in Wheaton, Illinois in 1989to Lisa and Paul Boken. Megan had three siblings brother Joe Boken and sisters Mary Boken and Annie Boken Palazzolo.
Megan attended Saint Michael Elementary School at Wheaton, St. Francis High School in St. Louis, where she became of the Spartans amazing volleyball players. During her sophomore year she helped her team to a Class A crown, Daily Herald All-area honors (2005-06), also in 2005 she got a special mention plaudits, named Captain at the Chicago Tribune All-State first team in 2006.
After her graduation in 2007 she enrolled at St. Louis University. With the Billikens she conquered two A-10 regular-season titles in 2008 and 2009, during her junior year she was named to the A-10 Championship All-Tournament team, Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team and All-Conference Honorable mention in 2010, was a member of St. Louis University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and had a place at the the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for academic excellence. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Saint Louis University’s John Cook School of Business in 2011.
From May 2010 until June that same year she was a marketing intern with Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, after she graduated from college she serves as a sales Team Leader at Universities Directory. Last September she began her job at Edward Jones as a Financial Advisor.
Megan Boken was not married, and so far nobody has confirmed whether or not she was single or had a boyfriend.
